
Aquí va otra página en el libro de los rumores de la Apple Store México. Hace ya varios meses, Mundo Mac publicó un articulo (basado en las vacantes en la pagina de empleos de Apple) donde se podía deducir que Apple quería entrar a México. Varios nos tiraron de locos, de improbables, ilusos, etc, pero exactamente un mes después Apple abrió el primer Apple Online Store en un país latinoamericano; Apple Online Store México.
El rumor de un Apple Retail Store (no online) sigue en pie, desde que el diario el Universal lo afirmó. Después de un tiempo el rumor bajo a mito, pero meses después páginas internacionales como AppleInsider, iFoAppleStore y Engadget afirmaron que Apple estaba en negociaciones con el grupo Reichmann International (propietarios de la Torre Mayor - torre mas alta de America Látina) para otorgar un espacio.
Ahora nos toca a nosotros dar nuestra información y es que hace apenas 3 dias (22 de Enero del 2008), Apple publicó en su página de empleos una vacante en la sección de México que dice muy claro Regional Retail Sales Manager.
A continuación un analisis de lo que indica:
Regional Sales Manager – Macintosh Solutions Consultants
Apple is searching for a Regional Retail Sales Manager to manage and motivate a team of Apple in-store sales representatives (Macintosh Solution Consultants) who will be located in select locations in Mexico D.F.
Role:
- The role of the Regional Manager is to grow the Apple sales and solutions at a retail location where an MSC is employed.
- The position of the RM is a field level job and will require the RM to be involved in store level activities, during peak store hours, including weekends, to drive the highest possible revenue targets and attach rates.
- The RM will work with agency staff (MSC) on selling complete Apple product solutions to all prospective and current customers and make sure Apple merchandising policies are being upheld and met.
- The RM will work to insure that the highest levels of customer service, satisfaction, and integrity are being delivered on a continual basis.
- The RM will work with store management and develop strong, influential, collaborative business relationships that allow themselves the ability to monitor the Apple business and insure it is growing and on track to meet targets.
- They will provide leadership in coaching their sales team to achieve sales objectives.
- Responsible for managing and motivation of sales team and territory.
- Responsible for ensuring corporate and team objectives are met.
- Monitor individual and team progress through goal setting and monitoring of measurable objectives.
- Provide continuous feedback and recognition for effort and achievement.
- Develop strategies, plans, and methods to deliver approaches for strategic relationships selling to retail customers, roll out and communication of business policies & procedures, compensation plans, etc.
- Maintain current and develop business relationships and rapport with Store Managers and Managers at a Regional Level.
- Monitor sales results and progress of region through weekly and monthly reports.
- Provide clear and concise updates of sales, competition and regional events through weekly and monthly reports.
- Provide feedback to Chanel Marketing Team, Account Executive and Country Managers re: pricing issues, advertising, promotions, etc.
- Build and maintain relationships to ensure effective communication channels within all areas and levels of the organization.

- Strong relationships with Retail Store and Regional Managers, as evidenced through quality of information obtained, support for exceptions etc.
- Agency staff retention, development and satisfaction, as measured through surveys (retailer and agency)
- Ability to develop plans to strengthen revenue and minimize lost opportunity
Qualifications
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and English.
- International Travel up 25%
- Proven track record of success in the delivery of quotas (10+ years in Retail.
- The RM has demonstrated ability to proactively diagnose and develop remedies or plans for solutions or opportunities.
- RM has a proven successful background in people management within a dynamic environment with multiple store locations.
- Strong Analytical skills to pin point problems and propose cost effective solutions
- The RM is a superior communicator with an ability to interact in a multi layered personnel environment.
- This RM understands solution based selling.
- The RM understands how to grow a customer base and has demonstrated an ability to proactively discuss solutions to issues.
- The RM has demonstrated an ability to deliver time sensitive projects.
- The RM has a developed sense and knows how to offer superior customer satisfaction.
- Storng project management and relationship building skills
- Knowledge of the Mac platform would be an asset
Bien ¿que significa todo esto? Obviamente todo el documento afirma que Apple planea algo en México en cuestion de ventas.
Hagamos una lista de lo que afirma un Apple Retail Store y de lo que lo niega (podría ser otra estrategia de ventas):
Afirma:
- “Regional Retail Sales Manager” creo que la palabra “retail” ya dice que se trata de una tienda física y no online.
- “Grow Apple sales and solutions at a retail location” Crecer la ventas de Apple en una ubicación ¿Será la Torre Mayor?
- “Will work with store management” Se encargará de la administración de la tienda. Mas claro ni el agua.
- “Maintain & develop business relationships with Store Managers at a regional Level” Debe tener relaciones con otros admistradores de otras tiendas a nivel regional (sea USA y Canadá).
Niega:
- “Will be located in select locations in Mexico D.F” Habla en plural, osea será mas de una Apple Store? no creo.
Finalmente quedan dos opciones un Apple Store o mas Apple Shops adicionales. Yo me inclino mas hacia la Apple Retail Store ya que si fuera un simple Apple Shop como los que hay en España, Francia y México, no se necesitaría mas de 10 años de experiencia en tiendas y mucho menos viajar 25% del tiempo, como tampoco tener relaciones con otros administradores de tiendas en la región.
Ya veremos que nos depara Apple
